W artykule omówiono wewnętrzne, zewnętrzne i instrumentalne determinanty rozwoju regionalnego. Następnie przedstawiono analizę poziomu rozwoju społeczno- gospodarczego polskich województw w 2000 roku.

Abstrakt EN:

This article analyses the level of socio-economic development in Polish voivodships. The first section discusses the term "regional development". Next, the author identifies the factors that impact upon the level and structure of regional development. In a further section, the author evaluates the level of socio-economic development in Polish voivodships using Z. Hellwig's development model method. The analysis includes four substantive groups that reflect various aspects of development: population and job market, level of social development, level of economic development, and development of the technical infrastructure.
