Abstrakt PL:

W artykule przedstawiono problem bezrobocia w województwie śląskim i podkarpackim. Omówiono niekorzystne sytuacje, sprzyjające wzrostowi liczby ludności pozostającej bez pracy, oraz wskazano na warunki jakie muszą być spełnione aby uzdrowić rynek pracy w tych regionach.

Abstrakt EN:

This article concerns unemployment in two regions in different stages of social and economic development. Despite the differences in the two regional economies, and the different causes of unemployment in each - the restructuring of "declining" industries in the Śląskie voivodship (mining, iron and steel), and the liquidation of state collective farms (PGRs), the restructuring of industrial plants and redundancy among agricultural labourers in the Podkarpackie voivodship - in both cases unemployment is affecting more and more working people. The problem can be partly alleviated by increasing spending on the education of young people living in small towns and the countryside, by reducing taxes, by assisting SMEs, by developing agrotourism, and by producing organic food.
