Abstrakt PL:

W opracowaniu położono nacisk na cele makroekonomiczne polityki kursowej. W pierwszej części omówiono najważniejsze kwestie teoretyczne oraz pokazano różnice między systemami polityki kursowej i jej kierunkami. W części drugiej skoncentrowano się na istocie systemów polityki kursowej, a także wyodrębniono jej cztery reżimy: system kursu stałego, system kursu pełzającego, system pasma pełzającego i system kursu płynnego. W zakończeniu podano wnioski wypływające z przeprowadzonych rozważań.

Abstrakt EN:

This article describes the role played by exchange rate policy in achieving macroeconomic goals. Weighing the significance of exchange rate policy is especially important in the light of Poland's imminent membership of the European Union, and then of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). That the countries already party to EMU cannot pursue their own exchange rate, nor even monetary, policies adds a further note of urgency. The first section provides a concise discussion of the most important theoretical issues and shows the differences between the exchange rate systems and exchange rate policies. The second section focuses on the nature of exchange rate systems and the exchange rate policies pursued in their contexts, and specifies four exchange rate regimes: the fixed rate, the crawling peg, the crawling band and the managed float.
